Standing Committee On Public Health
Welcome to SCOPH!
With a vision of a world where all Medical Students contribute to their full potential towards the making of healthier communities, in their capacity as medical students and as future healthcare providers, SCOPH or Standing Committee for Public Health primarily deals with the public health scenario.
It involves functioning at a ground level, directly dealing with the beneficiaries. It promotes medical students as the beacon of change, harnessing the grassroots level approach of Public Health. Over the years, SCOPHeroes have created an impact locally as well as nationally by conducting various pan-India campaigns, transcending all possible hurdles and boundaries of age, class and religion to address all issues related to public health, including global health issues, health policies, health promotion and education. Our team has passionately explored all realms of healthcare, from guiding school children to mothers, from old to the specially-abled. Here through education, prevention, empowerment, and support we strive to achieve ‘health for all’, we strive to create an impact.
Our team believes in holistic health and is currently focusing on the following areas:
-
Communicable & Non-Communicable Diseases
-
Universal Health Coverage
-
Health Systems Resilience and Strengthening (HSRS)
-
Mental Health
-
Good Nutrition & Well-being
-
Environmental Health & Climate Change
Among many achievements, Since 2018, SCOPH has represented MSAI at the Rex Crossley Awards at the General Assemblies (GA) of IFMSA five times and bagged the second place internationally at the IFMSA March Meet 2018, Egypt. SCOPH MSAI has reached the lives of thousands of people of the general population, expanding and evolving each year, acting on public health needs of local communities, all the way to leading the medical students of the nation to become better healthcare professionals. By virtue of awareness campaigns, distribution drives, capacity building and more, SCOPH strives to unite medical students nationally to take steps towards healthier communities.
